6 Steps How to Get a Remote Job in 2021
https://www.ryrob.com/remote-job/
“Finally figuring out how to get a remote job. It sounds like a pretty desirable goal in 2021 now, right? More flexibility with your schedule. No more sitting in traffic driving to an office (that may or may not be open at the moment). More time to allocate towards side projects.
The list of benefits from getting a remote job goes on and on. As a full-time remote worker (and blogger) myself, I get to experience many of these benefits first-hand. But being in business full-time for yourself also comes with more risks, higher costs, and the ever-present potential for down times.”

The Pandemic Revealed How Much We Hate Our Jobs. Now We Have a Chance to Reinvent Work
https://time.com/6051955/work-after-covid-19/
“As the postpandemic great reopening unfolds, millions of others are also reassessing their relationship to their jobs. The modern office was created after World War II, on a military model—strict hierarchies, created by men for men, with an assumption that there is a wife to handle duties at home. But after years of gradual change in Silicon Valley and elsewhere, there’s a growing realization that the model is broken. Millions of people have spent the past year re-evaluating their priorities. How much time do they want to spend in an office? Where do they want to live if they can work remotely? Do they want to switch careers? For many, this has become a moment to literally redefine what is work.”

How to Get a Job in 2021
https://www.nextavenue.org/how-to-get-a-job-in-2021/
“Between COVID-19, record-high unemployment numbers and the collapse of entire industry sectors, 2020 has been a miserable year for older workers. In fact, for the first time in nearly 50 years, older workers face higher unemployment than mid-career workers, according to The New School Retirement Equity Lab. And a Champlain College survey found that 9% of boomers and 11% of Gen Xers have lost jobs in the pandemic. Yet despite all the challenges, millions of Americans did get hired this year. As of September, the unemployment rate had ticked down to a still steep 7.9% from a near historic 14.7% in April. What strategies did job seekers and gig workers use that can help you find employment in 2021? To help answer that question, I asked five of my career coaching colleagues to reflect on their clients' winning job search tactics from 2020.”

Highest Paying Jobs You Can Get Without a College Degree
“College is often touted as the pathway to a brighter financial future. But this is not always the case. The cost of tuition, books, lodging, and more can be expensive, and it drives many into tens of thousands of dollars in debt. While college grads certainly earn higher wages on average, some make relatively little. These are the college majors that pay off the least.”

Your Approach to Hiring Is All Wrong. Outsourcing and algorithms won’t get you the people you need.”
https://hbr.org/2019/05/your-approach-to-hiring-is-all-wrong
“Businesses have never done as much hiring as they do today and have never done a worse job of it, says Peter Cappelli of Wharton. Much of the process is outsourced to companies such as Randstad, Manpower, and Adecco, which in turn use subcontractors to scour LinkedIn and social media for potential candidates. When applications come—always electronically—software sifts through them for key words that hiring managers want to see. Vendors offer an array of smart-sounding tools that claim to predict who will be a good hire—but whether they produce satisfactory results is unknown. Cappelli explores what’s wrong with today’s recruiting and hiring and how to fix it.”
