Effective date: October 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit 40x50 (https://www.40x50.com), a daily leadership blog written by Andy Wergedal in Rocklin, California, since 2008. I've tried to keep it plain and practical.

What Information Is Collected

You don't need an account to read this blog, and I don't ask you to register. I don't directly collect your name, email, or other personal details unless you choose to send them to me or sign up for my newsletter.

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, it's handled by Blogger, which is owned by Google. Depending on how you comment, Google may show your name or profile and store your comment under Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Email: If you email me, I'll have your email address and whatever you include in your message. I use it only to reply.
  • Automatic information: Like most websites, this site and its service providers automatically collect technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location, pages viewed, referring site, and time spent on the site.
  • Newsletter: If you subscribe to my newsletter, your email address and any details you enter are stored by my email provider, Kit (ConvertKit), and used only to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. See Kit's privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site and the third-party services below use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, understand how it's used, measure advertising, and show ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as well.

Google Analytics 4

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which posts they read, and how they found the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and gives me aggregated reports; it does not give me your name. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Meta (Facebook) Pixel

This site uses the Meta Pixel (ID 4911363072425499). It helps me measure how visitors who come from Facebook or Instagram use the site. I may also use it in the future to show ads on Meta platforms to people who have visited this site (retargeting). Meta may collect information such as your IP address, browser details, and pages visited, under Meta's Privacy Policy.

X (Twitter) Pixel

This site uses the X pixel to measure how visitors who come from X use the site, and possibly to show ads on X to past visitors. X handles this data under the X Privacy Policy.

Google AdSense and Advertising

This site may show ads through Google AdSense.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

If other third-party vendors or ad networks serve ads on this site, they may also use cookies; you can learn about and opt out of many of them at www.aboutads.info.
